Hackney, East London

We’ve teamed up with MR PORTER to celebrate World Mental Health Day and the second anniversary of their content and fundraising initiative, MR PORTER Health in Mind, which helps men to live healthier and happier lives. Their latest campaign, #MRPORTERGoOut, is all about the healing power of time spent with good friends in the great outdoors – and the positive impact that has on both your mental and physical health. So, we’ve come together to create some bespoke, London-based walks, complete with route info and café recs, to help get people walking and talking.

HIKE SUMMARY

This circular route from Hackney Wick has got something for everyone. From canals to woodlands, stadiums to pubs – it certainly packs a punch. The east London neighbourhood has a history steeped in creativity and diversity that is apparent in every turn. Our route takes you on a tour of iconic places old and new. Tucked alongside the canal, Wick Woodland provides a quiet oasis of green as you head along the footpath. Emerging out of the woods, you head into the Olympic Park and are met with great views across the city from the iconic Olympic rings. Passing between the imposing London Stadium and ArcelorMittal Orbit structure, the route takes you along the stunning towpath back to the bustling barge bars and hipster hangouts.
